In short. Venues are included by one numeric rule, sorted by a fixed three-step order, and graded on how directly their own site or docs support the leverage number. The one exception to the sort order is a disclosed partner.
Who gets listed
The source is a research dataset of perpetual-futures projects. We only look at entries categorised as venue, which leaves out infrastructure, analytics, aggregators, copy-trading and other tooling. From those we keep the ones whose recorded maximum leverage reaches the cut-off:
- 500x and above goes on the home comparison table (9 venues in the current build).
- 100x and above goes on the highest leverage exchanges guide (25 venues).
Entries with no recorded leverage figure are left out rather than guessed. A venue's status (live, beta or unverified) is recorded but does not remove it from the list; it changes where the row sits and how it is graded. Rows with status unverified (5 of the 25 in the 100x list) are separated into their own table on the home page.
Sort order
- The disclosed partner row, if present (see below).
- Maximum leverage, highest first.
- Evidence grade, verified before limited.
- Name, alphabetically, as the final tiebreak.
There is no scoring formula, traffic data or fee weighting. Ties are common at the top because several venues list the same 1000x or 1001x figure, so the order among them says little about quality.
Featured and the partner relationship
This site is operated in partnership with LeverUp. Its row is placed first and labelled Featured, and the site links to its app with tracking parameters. We keep that placement separate from the grading: the evidence badge on that row is computed by the same rule as every other row. Its guide, 1001x leverage, cites only the venue's public documentation and app.
Evidence grades
Each row is given one of two grades by a fixed rule:
- Verified on site/docs: the status is live and the evidence note does not match any weakness pattern.
- Limited: the status is not live, or the note mentions press coverage, a claim not stated on the site, minimal or empty page content, only third-party sources, or a page title only.
10 of the 25 rows in the 100x list are currently Limited. The grade describes how checkable the headline number is, not whether the venue is trustworthy, solvent or regulated. Every row also shows the evidence note itself and, on the guide, a link to the venue so you can check it directly.
Recheck schedule
Rows are rechecked against the venue's own site or documentation and the date is stored with the row. The current dataset spans 2026-10-14 to 2026-10-18. Our target is to revisit each row at least once a month and sooner after a venue announces a change; the target is not a guarantee, which is why the date is printed on every row. The "Last updated" date at the top of a page only says when the page text or build last changed.
How the leverage examples are computed
Worked examples use a fixed Bitcoin price of $60,000 as an illustration, not a quote. Two liquidation conventions are shown because venues differ:
Margin-loss rule: move to liquidation = 0.8/L (liquidated once 80% of margin is lost)
| Leverage | Margin on $10,000 | Generic move | BTC move | 80% rule move | BTC move |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 100x | $100.00 | 0.500% | $300.00 | 0.800% | $480.00 |
| 500x | $20.00 | 0.100% | $60.00 | 0.160% | $96.00 |
| 1000x | $10.00 | 0.050% | $30.00 | 0.080% | $48.00 |
| 1001x | $9.99 | 0.050% | $29.97 | 0.080% | $47.95 |
Margin is notional divided by leverage. The numbers are produced by the same functions as the liquidation price calculator, so the two sites agree. Fee examples multiply a per-side fee rate by leverage and by two for the round trip.
What we do not verify
- That the cap applies to every market, every position size or every account; most caps do not.
- Live liquidity, fills, spreads or fees; we do not trade on the venues to test them.
- Security, audits, solvency, withdrawal reliability or regulatory status.
- Press or third-party claims; they are recorded and marked Limited, not confirmed.
- Anything after the check date. Venues change caps without notice.
Before you trade, confirm the cap on the venue's trade ticket for your market, read its liquidation rules and start with a small position. The high-leverage risk guide shows how to size from risk instead of from the headline number.
